The journey continues in our school story of engaging students with their learning in interesting and meaningful ways.  Division 11 headed outside to use loose parts from nature to create different patterns for math class.The kids built their patterns, did a gallery walk to view, then shared how their group built the pattern, what type of pattern was used (growing/shrinking/repeating and where the core is) and showed where they used symmetry. 

After displaying their work in the gallery walk, they discussed how they used the Communication Competency to share their work with each other.  They gained new ideas from each other and tried creating more patterns using their new knowledge they gained from their peers.
